Female, 42 – Lip enhancement

Through the roof with excitement, I started to get a little nervous about the prospect of sharing the red carpet with the likes of Lost’s Emilie De Ravin and the gorgeous Evangeline Lilly…

42 yrs old and not getting any younger, I didn’t want to try and compete – I wanted to feel as comfortable as possible and enjoy the proceedings without any minor concerns.

Before I went shopping for ‘that dress’, I spoke to a colleague about the possibility of enhancing my lips to give me a more youthful appearance. Never having had any such procedure before, I assumed it was Botox that was injected to enhance the lip, I couldn’t be more wrong! I was quickly advised by my colleague that is was in fact dermal filler that was used to enhance the lip and that the procedure took less than 20 minutes.

I was referred on to Cosmetic Image Clinics, where I booked a free consultation. Happy with the fullness of my bottom lip, I explained my top lip required some plumping to be more in-line with the bottom. To achieve the natural look I was after, it was suggested that I have a small amount of filler in the border of my top lip and either side of my mouth to raise the sagging corners to give me a more positive expression.

A small amount of local anaesthetic was used similarly to how the dentist would prepare you for a filling. The treatment was over in an instant and after the initial swelling went down that evening – I was ecstatic with the results! All my work colleagues are dumbfounded that I look so much fresher yet they can’t tell I’ve had anything done!
