‘Pink Bits’ Chemical Peel Instructions & Aftercare

Aftercare
Following treatment, mild redness, warmth, tingling or sensitivity in the treated area may occur. These effects are usually temporary and settle within a short period.
To support skin recovery, patients are advised to:

Avoid direct sun exposure to the treated area
Avoid very hot baths, showers, saunas or steam rooms for several days
Avoid friction, rubbing, shaving or waxing of the area until the skin has settled Refrain from picking, peeling or exfoliating the skin
Follow all aftercare instructions provided by your treating practitioner

Why use a chemical peel for Genital or Anal Bleaching
Skin naturally renews itself over time. In certain areas, this process may take several weeks. Chemical peels are designed to support this natural turnover under controlled conditions. By accelerating exfoliation of surface skin cells, the appearance of pigmentation may gradually soften as newer skin emerges.

This treatment works by promoting controlled exfoliation of the superficial layers of the skin. This process may assist in:

Encouraging natural skin turnover
Supporting the gradual fading of existing pigmentation
Preparing the skin for adjunctive treatments or topical products where clinically appropriate

Chemical peels may be used as part of a clinically supervised skin treatment plan to address pigmentation concerns in selected external areas of the body, including the genital, anal, groin, upper thigh and underarm regions.

How do I use a chemical peel for Anal or Vaginal lightening or fading?
Apply the chemical peel once or twice weekly to intimate areas with cottonwool balls or gauze. A normal stinging sensation is experienced which will pass within a few minutes. If stinging is too uncomfortable, wash the area immediately with water (it’s advisable to have a wet flannel ready in case).

To neutralise or minimise discomfort if required, irrigate with water or a water soaked cloth immediately. A fan or hair dryer on ‘cool’ can also help to minimise discomfort. If no or minimal stinging occurs, do not wash off.

Avoid using the chemical peel on the mucosal vaginal area which is already pink and lighter coloured. Apply only to the pigmented area surrounding the vaginal mucosal area. Do not insert directly in the anus, only apply on the outside anal skin.

If discomfort is experienced afterwards, apply a barrier cream such as Vaseline or paw paw ointment to lessen inflammation.

Is Anal or Vaginal Bleaching permanent?
Unfortunately, just like waxing or pigment removal on your face, you will be required to do maintenance treatments to help retain results. Ongoing treatments are required over time or results will fade. Be aware that friction and rubbing, and the use of hormones such as the oral contraceptive pill may increase the production of melanin or pigment in the skin.
